About me
Debbie Hynes
I believe there's nothing more powerful than the narratives we tell ourselves and others.
This has led me two decades in strategic marketing communications at Canada's public broadcaster in Toronto, St. John's and Montreal.
During that time, I've had the privilege to work on numerous award-winning television and radio programs, podcasts and community engagement initiatives. As a coach, public speaker and workshop facilitator with not-for-profits, entrepreneurs and purpose-led organizations, I use storytelling to help them unlock their potential and deepen connection with their audience.
Writing has always been a part of my life - journals, letters, poems, scripts. It's how I make sense of things. My personal essays and short stories have been published in magazines and online.
As a busy working mom with three incredibly spirited teenagers, I've also come to appreciated rest. Not just as a way to output more, to do more, to gain more but as a natural way of being. And with it, coming a deep respect for the parts of me - mind, body, heart and soul that got me here.
I created this retreat to share my thoughts on story, stillness and how simple everyday practices in both can have a big impact. What started as my morning pages with a cup of tea, has evolved into a project near and dear to my heart.
Feel free to reach out if you'd like to collaborate or want to share your thoughts.
I always have time for a good story.
